// MEET OUR COMMISSIONERS
The Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our Commissioners are our governing body. Ccommissioners are appointed by City Council to four-year terms. Their primary roles are to establish policy, articulate goals, supervise the Executive Director, and provide oversight of policy implementation by staff. Commissioners reflect community ideals in establishing policy and represent RRHA in the community. They also build community support and partnerships for initiatives and programs.
Gail was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in December of 2006 to fill an unexpired term.
Gail has worked as a provider and administrator of publicly funded substance abuse and mental health services in the Roanoke Valley for 28 years. Currently employed with Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, Gail has a M.A. degree from Virginia Tech and is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner.
Gail also serves on the City of Roanoke Human Services Advisory Committee and the Boards of Court Community Corrections, Mental Health Association of Roanoke Valley, and Trust House.

Gilbert was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in December of 2006 to fill an unexpired term.
Gilbert is an attorney and real estate developer. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in History and earned a J.D. degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law. Gilbert has served on the Roanoke City Planning Commission and the Board of the Library of Virginia, as well as the Roanoke City Electoral Board and the Roanoke Higher Education Authority.
Term: Expires in August 2009.
Daniel was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in December of 2006 to fill an unexpired term and was reappointed for a full term in August of 2007.
Currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Daniel earned a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Tech. He is currently serving as Vice-Chairman of the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services Board. Daniel also serves on the Board of Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare and has served on the Roanoke City Fair Housing Board.

Cheryl C. Miller was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in January of 2008.
Cheryl is Vice-President of Finance and Administration for Virginia Western Community College. She earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from James Madison University and earned her MBA from Eastern Mennonite University. Cheryl is a native of Augusta County where she was active in the community and served on various boards and commissions, including the Staunton Augusta American Red Cross and the Augusta County Library Board. Cheryl also served as an elected member of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors and has held a number of offices in the Ruritan organization. In 2004, she served as District Governor of the Woodrow Wilson District, representing Augusta, Highland, and Nelson Counties. Cheryl has 25 years of state governmental accounting experience, having worked 18 years for the Department of Corrections and the last 7 years in the Virginia Community College System.
